This policy explains what information Situational Energy collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. It applies to this website, to forms you submit to us, and to lead forms we operate on third-party platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
1. Who we are
Situational Energy (“we,” “us”) is an energy brokerage business operating in deregulated commercial energy markets in the United States.
We are not the supplier of your energy, and we are not the party that ultimately places your contract. Situational Energy acts as an independent contractor for a licensed commercial energy brokerage. We collect and review your account information; that brokerage prepares supplier quotes and executes contracts. Where we describe results, savings, or client counts on this website, those figures reflect the performance of our partner brokerage network unless expressly stated otherwise.

Lead forms on Facebook and Instagram
If you submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta may pre-fill it with information already on your profile, and passes what you submit to us. Meta’s own handling of that data is governed by its privacy policy, not this one.
3. How we use your information
- To contact you by phone, email, or text about your commercial energy account
- To determine whether your account is located in a deregulated market and is eligible for a competitive supply contract
- To prepare and present supplier pricing through our partner brokerage
- To meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations
4. Who we share it with
We share the information you provide, including your utility bill and account details, with our partner master brokerage and, through them, with retail energy suppliers who prepare pricing for your account. This sharing is the core of the service and cannot be separated from it. If you do not want your information shared this way, do not submit it.
We also use service providers that process data on our behalf, such as email, telephony, and customer-relationship software. They may only use it to provide those services to us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.
5. Calls and text messages
When you submit a form, you agree that we may contact you at the phone number you provided, including by automated dialing system or text message, about your energy account. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or email us at the address above.
6. Advertising and analytics
We advertise on Meta platforms. We may use Meta’s advertising tools to measure ad performance and to build audiences. Where we upload information for this purpose, it is hashed before transmission. You can control how ads are targeted to you in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences.
7. Retention
We keep contact and account information for as long as needed to provide the service and to satisfy legal and contractual record-keeping requirements, and then delete it. Utility bills submitted by prospects who do not proceed are deleted within 24 months.
8. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing hello@situational.energy. Residents of some states, including California, have additional statutory rights over their personal information. We honor those requests regardless of where you live.
9. Children
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
